FNB LIFE IS DEAD.

FNB Life is pretty much a non-service provider. Their customer care phone number - *** - tells you that "due to unforeseen reasons we cannot take your call". Then I emailed them, today 2 September at 12h00. I got this response: "We are unable to take your emails at the moment - but in 24 hours, someone will contact you". Sounds like 'fingers crossed'. So how do I sort out the fact that these clowns are debiting me for 2 policies, sending me conflicting information via email, are not available to take a call nor respond to an email, and basically I can go f#$k myself. Are there any humans at FNB Life? Is it a **** operation? That is how it feels. I want to cancel and take my hard-earned money elsewhere. But you cannot raise the dead at FNB Life. What a JOKE.

Title: Duplicate debits, bounced bank fees, no way to reach anyone — FNB Life

As a long-standing FNB Life client, I have had the worst service experience of my banking life over the past two months.

FNB Life has double-debited my account for two consecutive months under policy numbers 508226 and 508227 — this month R1,091.92 and R1,119.22 were both taken out, despite an email from FNB Life confirming I only owed R95.00. No explanation has been given for why two separate amounts were debited or why they bear no resemblance to the amount FNB Life itself confirmed I owed.

These duplicate debits caused other debit orders on my account to bounce, resulting in R112.00 in bank charges each time — R224.00 in total, caused entirely by FNB Life's error, with zero acknowledgement or refund offered.

On top of this, I cannot update my beneficiary details or cover limits on the app — it just returns a generic error. And when I tried to call to sort any of this out, I was told FNB Life is not taking client service calls "due to circumstances beyond their control."

So: no phone support, a broken app, unexplained double billing, and bank charges I now have to chase them to recover. I've sent a formal written complaint and am waiting on a response. If you're a current or prospective FNB Life client, take this as a warning — be prepared to fight for basic service.

Title: Resolved thanks to Mpho — but FNB Life needs to fix how hard it is to reach you

Following on from my earlier complaint about duplicate debits on my FNB Life policies, I want to acknowledge that this has now been fully sorted out.

I had the pleasure of speaking to Mpho, who took the time to understand the issue and left me a genuinely happy camper. Thank you, Mpho — your service made all the difference and it's clear you actually care about getting things right for clients.

My one request to FNB Life as a company: please make it easier to reach a real person. Not accepting calls or emails, even temporarily, does not instil confidence in a financial services provider, especially when clients are dealing with billing errors affecting their bank accounts. Once I got through to Mpho, everything moved quickly and professionally — the problem was never the people, it was getting to them in the first place.

Happy to have this resolved, and hoping FNB Life takes the accessibility feedback on board.
