FNB LIFE DRASTICALLY DELAYING CLAIM

Due to my business being event based Covid drastically reduced my income due to the ban on events. I received Covid assistance from FNB for which I am most grateful. My personal loans had loss of income insurance and paid my loans for some months after FNB stopped the covid assistance. I submitted a new claim for further assistance as the various levels of lock down limited all events. I submitted my claim on 20-03-2021 with no respomse from FNB Life until I sent a follow up email inquiring to the progress of my claim and received a request on 30-04-2021 for a letter stating why I need to claim which I forwarded twice on the same day. I sent more follow up emails on 20-05-2021, 31-05-2021, 22-06-2021, 29-06-2021,30-06-2021, 01-07-2021 & 06-07-2021 and forwarded the letter 0n 03-05-2021, 04-05-2021, 11-05-2021 after being asked for it on those specific dates. To date my claim has not been finalized which has now resulted in my loan accounts being handed over to FNB Legal for further action. THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF THE PEOPLE IN CLAIMS DEPARTMENT OF FNB LIFE HAD PROCESSED MY CLAIM IN THE FEW DAYS THEY PROMISE TO PROCESS CLAIMS. WE ARE NOW 4 MONTHS LATER WITH STILL NO PAYMENTS ON MY LOANS. IT SEEMS THAT FNB LIFE IS DELIBERATELY DELAYING THE PROCESS SO THAT I WILL FIND OTHER MEANS TO GET THESE LOANS PAID. THEY APPROVED THE EXACT SAME CLAIMS PREVIOUSLY SO THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO DO THE SAME NOW AS NOTHING HAS CHANGED. MY CLAIM AT FNB LIFE NEEDS TO BE PROCESSED AS A MATTER OF EXTREME URGENCY.

FNB Life decided to reject my claim after my posting this complaint which was to get positive reaction and finalize my claim as they were just not doing anything to resolve it. Their reasons for rejecting my claim does not make sense. If it was so easy to reject my claim why did they not do it when they received it, why did they take almost 5 month to make a decision and then suddenly when I post a complaint they take a few hours to decide. Their reason for rejection of my claim is me being self employed. The cover listed on my Debt protection plan schedule states clearly unemployment or inability to earn an income. Point 5 of my schedule which reads exclusions and limitations. Nowhere does it specify self employment. MY CONCERN IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF MY DEATH OR DISABILITY THEY WILL ONCE AGAIN FIND A WAY NOT TO PAY FOR THE SAME REASON. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY IF CLAIMS ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE ARE REJECTED.
