FNB Lets ****mers Deduct Money and Says 'Not Our Problem'
I am very disappointed with FNB. I have a *****ulent debit order that has been deducting money from my account for the past two months. The first deduction was R250 at the end of March. When I contacted FNB, I was told that the debit order was blocked by the company. I accepted the loss of R250 but was relieved, assuming that no further deductions would occur since the debit order is “blocked”.
To my surprise, on the 30th of April, another amount of R98 was deducted. I contacted FNB again—not even to dispute the amount—but simply to ensure that the debit order would be stopped or cancelled going forward. However, I was told again that “the debit order is blocked, and there is nothing we can do. You must contact the company and cancel it with them, or they will continue deducting from your account.”
This response is unacceptable. I’ve explained several times that this is a *****ulent debit order. How am I expected to contact ****mers and ask them to stop ****ming me? FNB did provide me with the contact details for the company in question, EasyFin Loans, but despite multiple attempts, I have been unable to reach them. It’s clear I never signed any loan agreement with them.
What upsets me the most is that FNB acknowledges there is nothing they can do. Am I just supposed to sit back and watch my money disappear every month? What’s worse is that the amounts are inconsistent—first R250, now R98—which leads me to believe they might start deducting even larger amounts in the future.
This situation is heartbreaking, especially since I’ve been a loyal FNB customer for over 10 years. Now that I truly need support, I’m being told that FNB is not responsible and that I must sort it out myself or continue losing money. This is not the service I expected, and I urge FNB to take accountability and offer real solutions to protect their customers from such *****.
