FNB Law on Call are as useless as Clientele Legal - they are a con

I am in disbelief at how useless the FNB Law on Call is - my word. Each time you call them, they will give any and every excuse for not being able to cover a matter - yet when they advertise it they claim to cover matters. It’s pretty much a con. My husband took up the business law on call and has called them 4 times, only to be given excuse after excuse why they cannot cover the matter. The last time he called them they mentioned to him that they assess whether there is a likelihood there will be a success before they take on a matter and guess what…each matter has had zero likelihood and they end up not taking on any of the matter. He has had to continue using the lawyers he has always used for all his business related litigation whilst still paying R700 per month on the useless FNB Law on Call that does nothing. Every month he has continues to pay approximately R700 for the cover and to date he has never ever been assisted by FNB Law on Call but has continues as he always had with private lawyers. FNB Law on Call has added zero value in his life. As for the call centre agents that are the so-called lawyers…useless! Today he will cancel his cover today with FNB Law on Call, mark this so called legal cover as a con and save himself the R700.

On my side, I took the personal FNB Law on Call - I too experienced the same thing. The first time they come up with all kinds of excuses why they could not take on the matter. The second issue I approached them with had to do with a property I own even then they attempted to give excuses why they would not cover the matter - I insisted and they grudgingly wrote the letter of demand, which the call centre ‘lawyer’ asked me to check first (as if I am the attorney). Anyway, after the letter was issued, the respondent responded to the letter abs addressed the FNB call centre agent/lawyer and she never responded up until today. She only just remained as an observer and write the letter just to appease me and because she had been forced to do it after I again had complained about FNB Law on Call. I was extremely embarrassed to have a so called ‘lawyer’ copied in that never ever responded to the respondents or took any further action - even to atleast advise me. I doubt she even read the correspondence.

So for the money I too have paid for the FNB Law on Call on monthly premiums, all I have gotten is a letter of demanded I insisted on and had to proof read - nothing else. They are identical to Clientele and ought to close that so called Legal cover business they claim to have. It’s useless and is just a money collecting scheme on FNB’s part. Anytime I have any issue I dread calling FNB Law on Call because I know I will hang up with zero assistance on any legal matter I may ever have. They are useless beyond belief and will embarrass you if you think you have a ‘lawyer on call.’You will be on your own - that much I can assure you. Cancelling is the only option I too see…nothing more to see here.
