FNB Late Estate closure taking over two months and a whole lot of red tape - USELESS
My mother passed away in April. I have been dealing with FNB to close her accounts since June 21 - they say their turnaround is 30 working days - it is now beginning Sept and I am still struggling to get these accounts closed and the monies transferred. I have called them four times, spoken to a supervisor once, ranted and raged - yes, every time I call something happens and I get an email to say it has moved to the next stage. Now they tell me that I have to wait another 7 days for the next department to do what they need to do before any further action. This while I have to maintain a late estate account with them, had to deposit R200 to keep it going and every month that they take to deal with it, I have to pay account fees....my advice, don't use FNB or, if your parents have an account there, make sure you have the ATM pin, withdraw all the monies and forget the red tape that they put in place to frustrate you every single step of the way. Disappointment doesn't even come close to describing my anger at the moment....but I will call again later this week and shout at some poor person who is simply put there to answer the phone, read from a line of text and provide you with no resolution whatsoever
