FNB lack of flexibility and customer care
Me and my wife have been banking with fnb for years. We have a total of 11 accounts with them to which 2 of those are part of their private clients accounts and 3 are homeloan accounts, with the rest being business, cheque and credit cards. We have an excellent credit score with no defaulted payments.
The issue started when we wanted to apply for a new homeloan with them. Basically they can't give us a homeloan because they wont take the wife's pay into consideration yet they include her expenses. Should i say their initial submission lf our expenses to their credit department was wrong because the consultant doesnt pay attention to detail. Despite that we still have adequate income to cover for a new bond. What sadens me the most they did not even bother to look for other alternatives to secure the bond for us and i even escalated the matter to my private banker which promised to get back to me,to date no response was offorded besides a declined application.
The wife recently started her own company so they dont have financial statements covering 2 years as per their policy yet they have annual statements covering one year.
Our current homeloan accounts with them are ahead with payments and we have received offers from the other banks to secure our new home while FNB couldnt assist.
My view: FNB doesnt care about their customers and their private banking options are just a waste of money without any benefits. Other banks take care and consider much more when looking to do business while FNB is very set on their pocilies despite possible motivations to keep their clients.
We as a family are planning to move all our accounts to another bank and still fail to understand how fnb is ranked no. 1 in RSA
