FNB JUST LIKES TO TAKE MONEY. PAYMENT BREAK ****.
Pity you can't give zero stars. I've been banking with FNB for over 10 years now and with Covid, my husband hasn't been working so we've been living off one salary and I just needed a little extra cash in my account for a few months to recover so I asked for a payment break on one loan from FNB. I was declined. I have never missed a payment to anyone, including FNB (loans, homeloans etc.) and thought they would have the decency to extend my loan for at least 3 months and just give me a break, but I got nothing. I'm paying off all my loans with FNB and never ever taking a loan out with them. I'd rather take my chances with other banks, even a loan shark. If it wasn't such a mission to change banks and banking details with everyone, I'd switch completely. They're quick to call and complain when you owe them money but when you ask for legitimate help, you get absolutely nothing from them. Bank of the changeables...such ****. Don't bother calling FNB, your customer service is terrible and I don't want to hear your lame excuses. This is just a warning for others who may want to bank with you, or worse...may need some help to keep their homes and feed their families.
Kindly be advised that we are unable to give you a payment break as FNB provides you with a Take-A-Break facility only in January every year for the duration of your loan provided your account remains up to date. This facility is automatically provided to you."
As my complaint said, I didn't want any calls from fnb with lame excuses.
• You get a 3-month payment break by extending your current repayment term on a credit product;
• No separate credit agreement is required, and the original interest rate on the credit product applies;
• You will only resume with instalments at the end of your payment break on the product;
• Interest and fees are not suspended during the payment break.
