I never agreed to a set-off deduction, and I never consented to have my account double deducted and money to be taken besides the R1200.00 which was agreed with with the consultant telephonically on the 5th and the 7th of October 2019. All calls are recorded for quality and assured purposes so thus I would like FNB to listen to their consultant/s. The R1200.00 was supposed to be the last payment and with that a paid up letter would have been requested after the last deduction, however these ignoramus fools decided to do a set off for an amount which I did not even owe, now I have to lose a day's work to get this rectified. On its website, the ombudsman for banking services explains that for loans entered into after June 1, 2007, the National Credit Act (NCA) prohibits the banks from inserting a set-off clause in their contracts and from debiting an account for a loan repayment unless the customer has agreed beforehand that the account can be debited. I never agreed to the set-off and never agreed for an amount other than the R1200.00 to be deducted which was suppose to be the settlement amount as per your employee/s. So I would prefer it that you proceed in doing a reversal today and to provide me with a paid up letter to my email address ***, should this not be done then I will have to escalate the matter to the banking ombudsman.
