FNB is useless

FNB will allow your card to be used by merchants even if there is no funds on the account. When account goes to minus they will charge you higher fees for using cards without money on the account instead of bouncing back the payment due to no funds on the account. If payment bounces back they charged r8, if payment passes and you have no funds on the account they charge 135 rands fee. if you try to ask them why this happens they will just point for you to talk with merchant. They will neglect the fact that you do not have overdraft facility or credit card, and that they have allowed your debit card to be used by merchant even if there isn't any money on the account and charge you the fee for it. Do not use this bank, it is by far the worst bank in South Africa. Customer service won't help you or won't explain how is it possible for card to be used without any money on the account.
