FNB is trying to pull a fast one on me

Late last year i quit my job, to do a few months course, i tried by all means to get FNB to down grade my account from a cheque to a normal manageable and affordable account. Between the call centre and the branch i was being told several stories on how they cant. The call centre referred me to the branch and the branch told me that the call centre is too quick to pass the buck to the branches, as a result i could not close or down grade the account, when i logged on my online banking, i was happy the account is closed, i opened a new account and the card got delivered , trying to activate the card has been a mission, i am even considering giving up and go to an alternative bank. 1. Apparently I owe R 1300.00 for the charges incurred during the period i did not use my old account, the new account cannot be activated before i pay the R 1300.00 . I mean 1. I knew this would happen and tried to prevent it but no one wanted to assist and all of a sudden i owe them? I mean these people, I dont mind going to another bank and opening an account, which i am going to do but i need this R 1300.00 to be sorted,

I am seriously ****ed to the core, now i am the one who is supposed to be running after a credit managers to sort out this ****? when i was dealing with this at the branch no credit manager was mentioned or any thing, now i am being called and told to go to the branch and look for a credit manager who will assist. I ll have to find another chanel to get this sorted, FNB Complaints department is as useless as the contact centre and the branches :-(
