FNB is spelt D.I.Y?

On the morning of May 27th I had finally saved enough money to pay off a personal loan that plagues my financial well-being monthly. Upon contacting ABSA to enquire about a settlement amount I was informed that the amount I was given was only valid for till midnight, a new settlement amount would need to be determined daily. The only logical option, two steps from going into an FNB branch withdrawing the funds and making a cash deposit is to use the pay and clear option located online.

Upon transferring my settlement amount from my savings pocket to cheque, the amount transferred was deducted from my daily pay and clear limit… that's not right? Upon contacting both Premium Banking AND Online Support only to find no solution, multiple authentications and transfers between both Online and Premium. I was told constantly that I would need to adjust my daily limits online, This is impossible, how can I raise my limit from what the bank has set as max? Is this not a job for an FNB employee?

Requesting that FNB fix the issue and restore my limits so I can move forward in my life, the transfer was still not going through. After 08:00-14:00 work day of sitting and speaking to FNB employee after FNB employee and receiving absolutely no support or progress I took matters further and contacted FNB Head office. I spoke to an elderly lady who took down all my info, both my reference numbers and told me that she will see to it personally that my situation is dealt with. She stated she would even call back on the 30th of May… I haven’t heard from her either, not holding my breath.

May 22th I placed a “Call me back” from FNB Finance, Notification stated that I would receive a call from FNB within the next 48 hours alternatively I may contact them at my own accord. On May 25th I contacted FNB only to be told that their systems are down, can I do the application online. Application complete, approved, notification- FNB will contact you in 24 hours… Still waiting, on Friday the 27th I did receive a missed call from FNB finance after I spoke to Head office and I have heard nothing further.

May 30th today is a new day, so it shall bring with it new challenges… WRONG! FNB is at again with the same ol’ problem and no solution. After spending close to 2 hours between both FNB and ABSA only to find the problem is still on FNB’s side. Yet another day passes and no solution not even contact has been made by FNB to say “Hi Client, I may not have a solution but we are looking into your enquiry.”

Since the 22nd of May I feel that I am more an FNB employee than the people who answer their phones. I have spent over 8 hours trying to resolve my problem, solely. I have spent more than 2 hours running between banks. I have spent more time listening to FNB’s automated responses than actually speaking to ANYONE that could assist me. I wouldn’t recommend FNB to anyone seeking a good professional financial institution. I would recommend FNB the to anybody looking for a job where you solely answer the phone, and give people alternative methods to achieve the same result so they can call back later.

*** ***
