FNB is robbing me of R500 because they failed to tell Bidvest that FNB clients no longer qualify for free access at some of their lounges
2 weeks ago I accessed Bidvest slow lounge at King Shaka airport. The FNB logo was at the door and the host said I qualify for free access due to my card access. What is worse, I volunteered to bring in someone as I knew I could bring a plus one. To my horror, I found out that they have deducted 2xR250 from my account, which they did not refund as they normally do. When I queried this they told me that FNB clients no longer have access to the Bidvest lounge in Durban. I find it very strange that the Bidvest host is not aware of this, and the FNB sign is still at their door. Unfortunately now I am expected to make peace with the loss of R500 as if it was worth my while. I would have gone to the Slow Lounge had I not been misled by the sign at the door, and the host who confirmed that I qualified for free access. This is an injustice. How many people would choose to pay R500 for food that was not even worth R50 when I could have gone to the Slow Lounge if both FNB and Bidvest had ensured that correct information is given to clients who knew previously that the Bidvest lounge is also open for FNB clients. I must say that the amount of money I am paying for private bank is really not worth the service I get in return. The prestige of owning a "black card" is not worth the money I pay for the poor service I receive. You can tell from this already that I am unhappy with more than one thing. The recent experience is the last straw!!!!!!!
