FNB is Pathetic

Went to open a savings account at FNB Woodbrich in Kempton park. I was told that you can not earn interest on a normal savings account. Aftert inquiring why it is called a savings account if you cannot save and ear interest, I was bluntly dismissed by the lady helping me
