FNB is Not for the customer

The bottom line is that without an increase in my income, I have no realistic way of managing or reducing my debt. The current interest rates are crippling, and despite making every effort, the repayments are simply not sustainable. irresponsible lending. Did they follow the NCA in SA? I think not. How did they offer me credit that they know I couldn't repay?????

It is disheartening that, despite being a loyal FNB client for many years and contributing significantly through the interest I pay, there appears to be no willingness from FNB to offer any meaningful relief or support. This situation has made it clear that although I am the customer, I have very limited power in the relationship and feel completely beholden to the bank.

My ultimate goal is to free myself from all debt, but at this stage it feels as though remaining indebted benefits FNB far more than it benefits me. As a result, I am left with no alternative but to move forward with debt counselling and debt consolidation. My sincere hope is that within the next four years I will be debt-free—and no longer tied to FNB. Please know that this is not a reflection on you personally, but rather on the bank’s broader approach, which I believe amounts to irresponsible lending that takes advantage of clients’ financial strain.

It saddens me to take such drastic measures, but without them, I simply cannot survive financially.
