FNB is not a bank for businesses
I closed my personal account with FNB a few years ago after I had very bad experience with them. Last year when I purchased a vehicle for my business, Wesbank approved my finance within minutes, despite my business banking at another institution. So when I decided to open a new business account, I went to FNB. Among other I specifically inquired about the possibility of an overdraft as I knew my business will need some additional capital for an "upgrade" in the near future, and I was assured that if Wesbank approved finance for a vehicle, FNB will have no problem extending credit to my business. So 6 months later I needed the capital to expand my business, and so I went to FNB. Because my account with FNB is only 6 months old, I had to submit additional documentation, which I did. But it is now more than a month later, and I still have no answer. During the past month I received emails from FNB saying that they are trying to get hold of me regarding my application, and I should phone them back. The first time I phoned back, the agent said that he simply couldn't assist me, and transferred me around. The second time the agent could see on their system who was trying to get hold of me, and send a message to that agent to try again. Then I received a call from another agent saying he was testing my number. He tried to transfer me to the agent who was looking for me, but apparently they had phone problems and I couldn't be transferred. Since then I got calls from the call center, but when I answer, I get no response. I sent an email to my account manager explaining what happened, and she informed me that she is the only person I can correspond with regarding my application, and should ignore any messages / calls from the call center. So here I am, sitting with my hands tide behind my back. My customers need to know if we will be able to provide new services, and I can't answer them because I am still waiting for FNB - and yes, I am loosing business and money in the meanwhile. If you are a business owner and needs a bank you can fully rely on, do NOT choose FNB.
