FNB is an excellent, convenient and efficient bank to use...truly a cut above the rest.

I joined FNB last year when I changed jobs. I've been with ABSA, Standard Bank, recently tried Tyme Bank (who couldn't help me its any of the transaction issues I was experiencing and I closed them) and Capitec.

FNB is a superb Bank. The app makes life truly simple. I have my car loan, my funeral abs life cover policy with them and I can manage it easily on the application without having to call in. Their agents are clued up and can fix any issues in a timely fashion. I travel outside of the country for work and my bank charges are practically non-existent when I swipe. In fact when I joined FNB they rewarded me with R1000 as part of their promotion for switching debit riders from another bank to theirs. When I was buying property they offered me the lowest interest rate. I didn't get the property with them because it was a co-buy.

The only warning I'd issue is rather don't make use of their interest free Temporary Loan facility. I needed the cash to sort out some urgent issues and wanted to repay it after the month they stare in the agreement. They charge a 10% initiation fee and if you happen to get any money in your current account they transfer it to the loan account. Just a few days after I took out yhe loan my foster sent ne cash. It disappeared because FNB took it to pay the temp loan despite the agreement stating repayment would start a month after. Rather manage your cash flow than take out a temp loan.

Other than that, it's a great bank to make use of. No surprise charges, useful app, worthwhile cross-selling, promotions where you actually win something etc. Truly excellent, convenient and efficient.
