Fnb is a *****
In July 2020, I had several ********** transactions on my Cheque card. FNB investigated and found my account had been hacked. I asked for but never got a report on exactly what happened as I still had my card with me and tend to frequent the same places so chances are if I don't know where it happened, I will return to the scene of the crime unknowingly. Fastforward last week, an amount of R64 000 went off my credit card. FNBB has now declined that this is a ********** claim and I have to pay back this money. On the basis that they sent me a one time pin.
1) Did I recieve a one time pin on my phone? NO, they cant eve provide me proof from telkom that such a pin was even sent 2) Was my account flagged due to past ***** on my account? NO 3) Is it my normal spending pattern to use so much money on my credit card? NEVER 4) Did they send me a verification notice on my FNB app which is the norm? NO 5) Did they honour the 30k limit I had on my credit card for all transactions? NO 6) Did my private banker check any of these things and provide any kind of support in sorting this out?NO 7) Did FNB even investigate who did the money go to. A local ABSA account and they couldnt even check who it belongs to before declining my claim. 8) In August FNB experienced an Experian data breach which compromised all customer data. Did they even bother taking this account that my data could have been ****** on their own internal breach??? NO but they decline my claim in three days without even investigating properly
If you have a credit card that has the banks money, this could happen to to you. If the bank is not going to take firm steps to protect they own money then expect you to pay it back
Thats how @FNB can help you.
