FNB Insure fail to honour my claim
FNB Insure does not want to pay my claim due to “no maintenance” which is untrue. My garage ceiling fell. It hit my car which was badly damaged. I reported the incident to fnb insure to come repair the ceiling. They declined my claim stating the cornice (could be using the wrong term-I’m no expert here) was not *****ed and secured properly as the *****s are meant to hold it firm at 150mm apart and mine are 300mm apart. So case closed-claim not honoured!
Now my question is: during the house purchase stage-they send in evaluators to check and verify such things because granted; as a buyer, I would not know such things as it’s not my area of expertise. They were suppose to pick up the fault and flag it then for the seller to fix or reduce value on the house in proportion to how much it would have cost me (the new buyer) to fix it. But no, they approve the evaluation and purchase of the house. They willingly take their premium every month (which I have paid without missing a single installment). And may I state that they made it a condition that I take their insurance for them to approve my house loan application!
To my dissatisfaction; when I make a claim, I am told it is a mantainance issue. How am I suppose to know technical stuff about how a ceiling must be installed? That is why we trust them as experts and their evaluators to pick up such matters.
I am honestly very disgruntled about all of this and I need FNB Insure to sort it out.
Regards,
Cammy
