FNB Insurance extremely slow in finalizing my claim

FNB Short Term Insurance

Think they got their name wrong, it is now 53 days since I had a break in at my house and i still don't know whether my claim is approved or not. At first they appoint two different accessors, the consultant handling the claim never gave feedback accept when asked, and then don't deliver on his promises.

The straw that break the camels back is the following.

Isend an email on Monday 20 June asking for feedback, which he responded to at

I have received the final report form the assessor on Friday afternoon. Final feedback will be given to you on Wednesday.

I just need to read through the lengthy report and confirm the quotes.

Thank you

I then phone at around 14:30 on Wednesday afternoon to ask for feedback as I have not heard anything from him.

During the conversation I refer to his email, and he told me in no uncertain terms he does know what he wrote to me, and that it is still Wednesday and not yet close of business, so he still has time till 16:30 before he needs to give me feedback. I then ask if I can expect a call on or before 16:30 with the final feedback as per his email, where he then told me not to put words in his mouth as he will give me feedback when ever the claim is finalized and I should just wait till whenever that might be.

This is the worst I have ever experience from any Insurance company in the last 40 years that I have had Insurance.

But maybe I m lucky and he will phone me before 16:30 I how ever doubt that very much.

Did receive feedback and a phone call from a representative of the Insurance Complaints department, but it does seem the rot is running just as deep there as with the consultants handling the claims as well.

The consultant, promise to follow-up our discussion with an email and his contact details straight after our telephone conversation. Confirmed my email address, and as it seems to be the process here. No email, and no contact details.

Really FNB may I suggest that you rather teach your consultants not to make promises as they even can't keep one as simple as sending the contact details via email. How difficult is that, is there no pride in their work, are they really this bad that their word means zero, nothing, nada to them.

I am really very disappointed in the situation. I did send an email to the address supp**** on the reply to my original complaint, but that seems to be also ignored.

Talk is cheap, but money buys the whiskey. FNB Insurance consultants are all talk and nothing else.

Did receive some feedback from both my claims consultant and the the so called consultant from the claims complaints department. I did asked both of them some questions, which they have just decided not to answer, and that's it.

Treat my like a mushroom. "keep me in the dark, and feed me sh.t"

The feedback basically just said, I have to wait longer as it does take time to finals claims. Well we are at day 60, and still do they require more information.

What I do find strange is that the assessor has been asked to do a personal interview with my wife, it can't be done telephonically. How absurd is that. The assessor gave me a 2 min call to asked where were I on the day of the incident, and at what time did my son informed me of the incident.

They also don't trust what we have told them and now what records from MTN to proof where we were at the time of the incident. After 60 days they now decided this is what is required. If this is standard practices, why did they not asked for it in the first 60 days.

14 days since I made the initial complaint, and still no progress has been made.

The Complaints consultant contacted me on day 2, made promises and have not since heard from him.

The Claims consultant refuses to tell me what additional information are required and why the initial assessment from the assessor was not accepted, also refuse to give me an indication of how much longer I am going to wait.

The Assessor asked for information that is in her inbox for a week, further delaying the process.

FNB must have press the paused button again on this claim. now 66 days since the incident.
