FNB *******ly holding on to money for 40 days! AGAIN!!!

The day after our home loan was settled with FNB 21/12/2017, they deducted additional interest from the excess amount that the attorneys deposited into the home loan account equal to one months debit order. Our refund amount was incorrect, upon querying it we were told that an additional D/O was put through as a retained debit order and that it will only be paid back to us after 40 days. It is in case we missed a debit order. Which is impossible as our debit order ran on 01/12/2017 and the cancellation was done on 21/12/2017, meaning it was not time for another Debit order. This is unacceptable. The call centre staff are truly trying to explain as good as they can, but it is not to satisfaction. FNB take our money, to obtain the interest we owe them immediately - but no interest is mentioned on our money that they keep for 40 days!

Thank you for this service. I have phoned FNB today. I doubt they will get back to me, which is why I have decided to post on this site.
