FNB *******ly holding on to money for 40 days!

Our FNB home loan was settled on 21 May 2015. The final payment from the attorneys were in excess of what was outstanding. When enquiring on when the money would be refunded to us I was informed that FNB is keeping the money for 40 days. They explained to me why that this is a pre-caution if the settlement does not happen before the next instalment is due. In this case though the account was settled more than a week before the next debit order deduction was scheduled. Surely a validation rule in their process should allow for this happening and the client, who loyally paid their account for years should receive their money within a reasonable time? 40 days is not reasonable!!
AND FNB charges interest per day on your home loan, but is happy to keep your money due to you for 40 days? Tell me FNB, are you going to pay the interest that I am losing out on to me as well?

Seems only fair!

Ps, I am still waiting on a supervisor to phone me back, this was promised last week Thursday!
