FNB Ignored Payment Arrangement and Handed My Account to Debt Collectors

I paid R1,400 on 31 August 2026 as agreed with FNB and submitted proof of payment to *** to prevent my credit card account from being handed over to debt collectors. Despite honoring the arrangement, my account was still transferred to MBD Debt Collectors.

The R1,400 payment also does not appear to have been correctly reflected on my account balance. I made this payment in good faith to avoid legal collections, yet the account was handed over regardless.

I further raised the matter with an FNB Team Leader, Charmaine Seboya, on 2 September 2026. She advised that the matter would be escalated and that I would receive feedback within 24 to 48 hours. To date, I have received no feedback, only communication from MBD requesting payment.

I request that FNB investigate why my account was handed over despite the payment arrangement, confirm that my payment was correctly allocated, review the call recordings, and provide a fair resolution.
