FNB - How can we ***** you!!!!!
3 Years ago I had to go under debt review, at the time I had an overdraft facility which was also administered by my debt review company. About 6 months in FNB decided to move the overdraft into a loan as interest is less but without consulting me or my consent (how it was done I see it as a ********** transactions as I was already under debt review) which by law states no bank may grant a loan. I received notification of the switch and my debt review company was informed the same so as to pay the amount over to the loan account. Now FNB for reasons only known to them left an amount in my overdraft (why was the full amount not moved over to get the account in R0 balance unless it was a tactic for me not to be able to close the account). I was already under debt review and could not pay any other extra amounts. When questioning FNB I was told sorry you have to pay it and that was the final answer I got without even more explaining or how it could be resolved, no interest at all to assist a long time client. Now 3 years later I have settled all my accounts which was under debt review including the loan as well as my bond which was not added under debt review almost 3 months ago. I obtained a paid up letter for the loan but now my debt review company cannot issue my clearance certificate as FNB refuses to confirm paid up status due to the overdraft which accumulated extra interest. Why does FNB want to hold me accountable for their mistake and don`t tell me the left over amount was interest and failed debit orders as my new account with another bank was already 6 months old and all my debit orders switched as well as my debt review company already paid off an amount on the overdraft. I want this issue sorted asap, write off the amount with the interest you left over in my overdraft, close my account and issue my paid up letter to my debt review company so I can go on with my life, I paid more than enough to FNB. My debt review company has been sending emails to FNB since the 30th of July with no response as FNB has a backlog of 25 days, sorry that is unacceptable. Just an FYI I have lodged a formal complaint with the banking Ombudsman regarding this issue with email proof showing the lack of feedback from FNB. FNB "How can we help you" what a joke. Please do not reply to me with your response "We are looking into the issue", I want this issue sorted.
