FNB = How can we rob you

I have had my account with FNB for a few years and although I haven’t been an outstanding customer or one that always money in her account, I’ve paid to have a good name, at times not by choice.

This month though is the last straw. Maybe I don’t understand how their system works but having been their client for almost 5 years I’m pretty sure when you make a purchase, money goes off my account and I would receive an SMS stating that fact and how much is available in my account. This was the case this past Sunday. I bought an airline ticket, money went off my account, I received sms stating that and how much is left in my account.

I check my account today (4 November 2017) and the amount I purchased the ticket for has gone off my account, again? Now I need some to clarify to me cause maybe I’m stupid but when the purchase was initially made, money went off my account (irregardless of cut-off times, I received sms saying it went off and I had an X amount available) How is it that now, FNB is saying that money only went off the following day? When I received an SMS from your system stating money had gone off my account? What does reserved mean cause maybe I don’t understand it in financial terms? And now I’m paying R500 unexpectedly just because what I can afford it? Am I meant to just keep giving FNB money I don’t have?

R500 is a lot of money to have to pay for a glitch on their system. It’s money I haven’t budgeted for and I don’t understand how I made a purchase, money was reserved for it but I have to make the payment again because it apparently didn’t go off even when I have a system generated sms with my available balance?

Regards,

The BLACK and BROKE Female
