FNB - How can we NOT help you
"How can we help you? " mmmm, that is clearly something written by the marketing gurus, but which is not actually practiced by " my team of personal bankers”, the eBucks call centre or the FNB complaints department. I have not earned any eBucks since February 2019. Having been told that one of my FNB accounts " was not in good standing" I followed up with three departments - FNB investments (who confirmed that there was no issue with my investment); FNB Credit Card Division who confirmed I had not owed them anything for over 18 month and that my account was closed. They kindly issued me with a letter to this effect which I e-mailed to both my personal banking team and the eBucks division. I was then told I had a personal loan with FNB (which I never opened?) and I went through the same exercise with them! And no - I am not on record as a client of theirs! I then asked my personal banking team to follow up while I was out of the country for three weeks. On my return the status was unchanged. So, I started making the calls to all three divisions again - with many apologies and promised to revert with a status update. Naturally this did not materialize. In desperation I made an appointment to visit a branch - A very sweet man, Morne Quickfall, assisted me by following the same processes I had and contacting the eBucks division. That was on 17 May 2019. Morne has followed up twice with me. But there is still no resolution to my issue. I have closed my investment account with FNB (no reaction), I have moved most of my savings to another bank (no reaction). I have sent an e mail detailing my issue to ********** (I got a reference number! But nothing else). I have made calls at least twice a week - but it seems am no closer to getting this issue resolved. I did say I would take this up on social media if I did not get some feedback by close of business on 31 May. So, after a further 2 working days of grace I am trying this as a last resort. It seems that FNB is 1) Not interested in me as a client 2) Not interested in retaining my investment /savings (admittedly I am probably small fry to them in this respect) 3) Even my banking fees (between R300.00 and R500.00 per month) appear to not be enough for them to want to retain my business or goodwill. It's now been 8 weeks of one way follow ups to resolve this impasse. I wonder if there is another bank out there who might offer a better level of service?
