FNB - HOW CAN WE 'NOT' HELP YOU

So FNB has decided to charge R100 for card collections at their branches and R0 for courier delivery to your designated address.

The courier company is very efficient, except for call-back contact number.

FNB, on the other hand is most inefficient - especially their Credit Card Division (my current point of irritation - there other divisions may be just as inept!!!).

All queries are now channelled through their call-centres (call centres, in my personal opinion are the most inefficient contraption of this century - the bane of our existence). They ask a myriad of personal questions - for authentication (I don't mind) but when it came to - what was the Rand value of your last salary, or how much do you have in your cheque account at this moment in time, I literally exploded. This is fine if you are NOT sitting in an open office. So then she tells me to move to a secure position - most landlines donot come with unlimited extention cords; and I am supposed to move my PC. Further, she tells me to call back when privacy is assured or call from my cell phone. It took me 30-45 minutes to get through hence I used a land-line; imagine my cell-phone bill. And since when balance amounts and salary payments have to be disclosed to total strangers on the other side of the line at a CALL CENTRE???? I have my account with FNB for over 10 years and donot recall such ridiculousness - have always been able to call and engage from my desk in an open office, and get results.

Needless to say, I am sitting with a credit card about to expire tomorrow - and cannot activate the new one, even though the literature sent with my 'courier-delivered card' promises quick and easy activation with cell-phone and on-line options.

My other point of irritation is that FNB took the liberty to dictate couriering my credit card to me - but missed out the crucial fact that my Petro card is linked...so I sit with no Petro Card either.

Please FNB, ******* the adverti*****t 'FNB, how can we help you?' Because your ineffectual and inefficient staff at your credit card division and call centres clearly cannot!!!
