FNB: How can we ignore you and rob you of your hard earned money.

I cannot express enough how frustrated and angry I am with FNB's total ignorance in this matter that has been ongoing for several weeks.

In fact besides the blatant disregard for my request, another R110 has gone off my account , again for "unpaid item fee" for which there is no record of what transaction FNB has allegedly honoured on my behalf. Thus amounting to a grand total of R1320 for the month of October and November all together.

I will refer this matter to the banking ombudsman, and also pursue legal assistance to retrieve the full amount, as these charges are completely trumped up and can in no way be justified.

What I understand is when I swipe my card at a merchant, the money either goes off my available funds directly, or goes over to reserved funds, to accommodate for when the merchant will bank their terminals' transactions, even if done so at a later stage. So which in turn means that technically there are still funds reserved for these transactions and that they will be honoured by my own personal funds. To make matters worse is that FNB does not specify which of these alleged" unpaid items" have been returned and honoured by FNB on my behalf. So thus there is no way of me tracking these false claims to "unpaid items" as on my statement it only displays as "unpaid items fee".

Only part of the fees have been returned, a measily R440, I request that FNB escalate this matter, and also strongly suggest and expect that the Pricing team comply with my request to return the full amount of R1320.

I have already cancelled my card yet still these unpaid item fees continue to go off from my account even when no purchases has been made in the past days

I wish to conclude this issue immediately and after funds are returned I will continue to visit my local branch to close my accounts with FNB and take my banking business elsewhere, as with a few other banks, after doing extensive research with them, agrees with me that these charges are irregular with banking policies and also bogus claims to comply with South African Reserve Bank regulations and policies.
