FNB - How can we Help You - CAN YOU PLEASE JUST DO AS YOU ASK AND HELP ME!
On 24/10/2024 after receiving a "suspicious transactions" notification from FNB, I lodged a ***** case on my virtual credit card. Within 4 days (WOW) I received a response from FNB stating that my query was finalized, however, no email was received. This started the never ending calls between FNB and I when I eventually requested that the feedback be sent to my work email. Miraculously, I received an email to my gmail account on the same day (08/11/2024), after being verbally informed , on numerous occassions that an email had been sent. My ***** claim was DECLINED and I was told that, no employee was involved, FNB's system did not fail and, a secure device was used behind the secure login. Please bear in mind that I made purchases in Johannesburg 5 minutes prior to the *****ulent purchases in Cape Town. I am apparently a genie as I am able to travel through time as following my Bellville purchases, I made another purchase in Johannesburg, a mere 5 minutes later. As a long standing client (over 25 years) I appealed to FNB for a reconsideration of this decision and on 11/11/2024 received an email stating that: "Kindly note that your matter has been referred for review from a relationship perspective and you will be provided with feedback. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. As stated by FNB, a secure device was used for the purchases - I requested the footage of me tapping my phone (the secure device) for the purchases. I apparently spent just under R10 000 at Tan Hock Bellville, without a clue of what I purchased or where/who Tan Hock is. A Google search revealed absolutely nothing. My response was received from:
Kind regards Joan FNB Card | Retail Banking 30 Diagonal Street Johannesburg
That was the last email received from FNB in this regard. Due to the nature of my complaint, I did not pay my full credit card installment at the end of October - so then, FNB harassed me, sometimes 10 times a day for the R191 I owed them BUT, no one came back to me regarding my complaint. To add insult to injury, my credit card was suspended - which di not impact me as I did not make use of the facility following the ***** - and, I was apparently reported to the credit bureau. I am a regular payer (in full) and you would think that after banking with FNB for over 25 years, FNB would have noted my financial behaviour, alas, not. To date, I have had to response other than Joan Askham's (on 11/11/2024) acknowledgement of my email. I only today was informed of her surname.
FNB ask's, "How can we help you" to that I say, can you please just do as you ask and Help me!
Your prompt response on this platform was so misleading. I received your email stating that FNB are committed to addressing this matter within 5 business days. This response after waiting on a response from 06/11/2024.
