FNB - How can we DEFINATELY NOT help you
My son-in-law (who is too decent to complain) has had the worst experience with FNB in the past week. He opened his FNB account just over a year ago. In last week (6 - 8 November), he had an investment that paid out into his FNB account. On Friday 08 Nov, a staff member from FNB phoned him to ask if he was aware of the funds, & obviously he said he was. These funds were supposed to be available in his account by 10h00 on Monday 11 Nov, but this didn't happen. When my son in law started questioning this (at the Head office level) he was in for a horrid experience. The 1st call made, the staff member told him that because this is such a big amount, it would take longer to clear, and was told to "not mess around on your account", to the next call & being told that "we need to ensure that this money is not *****ulent" & then went on to inform my son in law that a representative will call the next day and then the funds would be available. On Tuesday 12 Nov, various calls were placed (again) & spoke to different staff members, with a host of various excuses, and eventually spoke to a lady (who is supposed to be a manager), who then had the audacity to say that FNB has 10 million clients and they can't keep all of them happy!@#$%!. Insinuating that only the wealthy clients deserve attention. Then came the excuses that the systems are slow, that the funds do show in the account so they can't understand why my son in law can't see the funds or access them, and it's not her fault that this is the case, and then went on to put the phone down. Son phoned back, spoke to her and was then told that there's nothing she can do, that IT will have to fix this. Phoned back again on Wednesday, to be told (by one of the other "managers") that he will have his team work on tis & get back to us, and by 15h51 that the funds will be available before 17h00. Needless to say, that wasn't the case. Today is Thursday (more than a week after the funds were paid into this account), and my son in law is still battling to get someone to gets these funds released. Considering that FNB's slogan is "how can we help you"... leaves MUCH to be desired!! It's pathetic that these funds were meant to be available within 3 days after being paid over, and it's now more than a week, and my son in law STILL DOESN'T have his money and is still battling to get any form of decent response. It's pathetic service (to say the least) and as for the attitudes of the staff members of FNB, well - this platform is certainly not geared up for the kind of language that is deserved by the (non existent) service and pathetic attitudes of the FNB staff!!!!
