FNB HOSPITAL PLAN IS DOING IT AGAIN!

AGAIN IT'S FNB. I am so not happy once more. 05 August I got admitted in hospital and got discharged on 12 August 2024, 23 August I put in my hospital claim and I know that their turn around time is 5 to 10 working days. Day 08 of putting in my claim (which was last Thursday) I called just to find out what is the status of my claim and was told that someone will contact me on day 11 which would have been on Monday, unfortunately no one called, I had to make a call myself to FNB life claims which was not helpful because I didn't get an answer as to why there is a delay on my Claim, I called again on Tuesday (yesterday) I didn't get a straight answer. After calling them today (day 13) someone finally got back to me and told me that they are still busy with my claim, trying to get a second opinion on my medical records. When I asked WHY? I am not told why. Instead I am told that I will get a feed back on day 15 (Friday) or latest day 16 (Next Monday).

I honestly don't understand why this is happening because last time I put in a claim I was told that I must fill in a claim form. This time around I asked the doctor to fill in the claim form for me so I can send it without having FNB ask for it. The most frustrating thing about this issue is 1). The policy says their turn around time is 5 to 10 working days and now they are breaking their own policy and telling me that there has been a backlog therefore will take long with my policy, knowing well that they keep referring my policy to higher structure, for what? I don't know. They had 10 working days to verify everything I gave them had it been me breaking their policy, it wouldn't end well. 2). I am the policy holder, I pay for the policy and I am the one who submitted a claim. Why am I not being kept in the know about what is happening? My questions are not being answered, I'm been given vague answers and this is truly frustrating. I was admitted for such a small thing and was suppose to leave the next day but ended up finding out I have something else and had to stay longer in hospital. In the midst of it all, what I was admitted for ended up being worse, the list goes on... Now I have to endure this? Mind you, on the last claim I made, FNB didn't even pay me the full amount that was due to me, I had to put in a complaint regarding that as well. So now every time when I make a claim on my FNB hospital plan it has to end in a complaint? 🤷♀️ No man, I'm not happy at all.
