FNB ********** service delivery
Oh how the mighty have fallen! I am sick to death of FNB's service offerings. Firstly, everything is automated now, you cannot even call a branch with a query as everything must be done via their FNB app. Now you have to walk into a branch only to be told to go to another branch to get the service you need. Well, I tried using Secure Chat on their app, but the expectation seems to be that the client can be kept waiting for a response indefinitely and then when you, the client, cannot take the call you get this stupid message thanking you and assuring you that your issue has been resolved. Oh my goodness... **********. NO SATISFACTORY SERVICE DELIVERY whatsoever. Secondly, we used to receive emailed statements every 2/3 months so that we could actually print out hard copies to check the status of various investments/accounts... this email facility seems to have been stopped now WITHOUT any notification to the clients who are still charged bank charges. For what? NOTHING??. Obviously FNB thinks that they are "Big Brother" and can do as they please, to hell with client needs. Obviously we must only check this on the app as you cannot print out from there. So much for banks calling on clients to be financially savvy and check their statements, etc. Is this a joke??? Thirdly and this is the most serious issue of all... I have an 87 year old father whom I am taking care of. He uses a stroller and a wheelchair, has a urine bag and is often in pain. He also has a pacemaker and is in heart failure. So...off I go first to the Beyers Naude branch and am then sent to Cresta as the Beyers Naude branch does not have the facilities to help us. If I was still able to call numbers that are still on their website all this waste of time could have been avoided in the first place. I now have to go into a branch and use their internal calling facilities. The irony is that they, via automation, tell clients that the longer service delivery is because of the pandemic, but obviously their health and wellbeing is more important than that of their clients who are not helped, not contacted and are sent from pillar to post and have to enter their banks to be able to talk to anyone. Obviously no fears regarding the potential of their clients being exposed to the virus at all. Shocking!! All the while my dad has to quietly suffer in the heat in my car. I get to Cresta and tell them that I need his pin changed so that I can pay his accounts. No...HE MUST COME INTO THE BRANCH. Not one staff member even offered to help and get him a wheelchair!!! And, they were not going to come to him...NO WAY. Maybe the cameras would actually catch them being kind, considerate and compassionate!! Many staff members mentioned how everything they did was being watched by internal cameras. Big Brother indeed. They also mentioned that my dad should use his app. Are you kidding me? He cannot even use a cell phone as he has no feeling in his hands due to his heart condition. So, what was I to do... I had to manoeuvre him for about 400 meters to get to the Cresta Branch. He was so traumatised, exhausted and humiliated as his urine bag had slipped out as well. We had been promised by Mandisa that when we got there we would immediately be helped as we had been given an automated number. Obviously, my dad could not move that fast and when we got there and I queried the mattter staff members all around just turned their backs on us. I wonder if the cameras caught those client-Cresta staff interactions? Probably not. We were fortunate that a fellow bank client was able to push him in a wheelchair as I would not have been able to do that and push his stroller. Again, not one of the Cresta staff members offered to help. I know that FNB is trying to emulate Thyme Bank's strategies so can ANYONE in banking out there refer me to a bank that actually cares about client care and commitment??? In adddition, I had quite a bit of cash I wanted to deposit into a bank account, only to be told that I had to count the money, no machine to do it and if they were to help me count we had to go out of the bank to do so. Have you ever?? So client and banker must count out money in public view of all ... what about the clients' needs, security and safety?? Oh boy... this was all because of those pesky cameras watching... interesting, watching for their needs and not for the clients needs at all. So... FNB what services do you offer to the elderly and the frail or are these people of no consequence whatsoever?????
