FNB "HonFees" - account not overdrawn...again!!
Greetings FNB,
Being a senior citizen with an Encore Gold account I am appalled by your service. During the course of the past 3 months, FNB now has a new trick up their sleeve, "HonFees", charged due to their system clearly being affected by load-shedding and the algorithm not functioning correctly at certain times. and the consumer, in this instance must bear the brunt and pay the price. I am not prepared to be a ***gy bank for FNB ripping R225.00 and 3 x R 8.00 from my R 2000.00 I have to live off monthly.
We are dealing with aggravated load-shedding which, in case you are not aware throws the FNB system out of sync. I have it in writing, on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September 2023 I did my daily reconciliation and the FNB system only reflected one pending item, BUT in actual fact according to my Excel reconciliation there were 3 additional pending items and yes, I printed a copy of my FNB account transactions, available balance and pending items on a daily basis, therefore, you can not fool me as I have it in writing and printed as well as my own personal excel spreadsheet which has to balance with it all.
A full reconciliation is done on a daily basis and before I leave my home my account is checked again to ensure that my account has sufficient funds for all transactions at all times. Having a discussion with support on the FNB app for over an hour was the worst ever, these "so-called" helpers couldn't care what they were addressing, when they felt they answered a question or had to take their tea break they merely cut the client off and the process has to be started all over again.
As a senior citizen, I am NOT prepared to carry the brunt of the useless FNB system. I expect the "HonFees as well as decline fees to be credited to my account without delay before the close of business today! Every cent. I am still busy with my June and July accounts as well because these "HonFees" have a snowball effect rolling over month after month and I now have to waste my time doing the reconciliations to prove that I am not in the wrong. As a senior citizen I now have to "police" the FNB system and watch FNB like a hawk.
Lastly, I do not have an overdraft facility, if, according to FNB there are no funds, return the transaction as unpaid and STOP charging these ridiculous amounts referred to as "HonFees" which I have never agreed to. FNB have NO right to charge these "HonFees" as FNB have no mandate to honour any transaction as I do not have an overdraft facility adding to that their system is out of sync.
I reiterate and emphasize the fact that I had funds in my account at all times to cover my transactions. I have it on record reconciled as well as my discussions with the support people via the FNB app.
Please refund and credit my account with immediate effect.
Regards,
D.C. Engelbrecht
