FNB Homeloans/Flexi bond - POOR POOR POOR!
My wife and I have an existing flexi bond listed with FNB homeloans. We've prepaid large funds into the so-called flexi funds and for the first time in 3 years we have requested to withdraw R160,000 from it as we would like to purchase a new vehicle.
I lodged the enquiry on FNBonline with the private banker on the 18th of September and received forms to complete the next day - basically, the forms were indicative of us applying for another loan with the bank (which it wasn't - it was a re-advance). I was already annoyed as I'm merely asking to releasing the funds from my prepayments made, yet a complicated process was beginning to unfold. Along with this, we were asked to submit payslips and household expenditure - NOT SURE WHY AS WE TRANSACT FULLY WITH THE BANK?? Surely they have visibility.
Once the documents were submitted on the 19th of September, we were told it takes 5 - 7 working days to complete. We followed up on the application daily since then and were told on 25 September that, according to the system, the application would be completed by 12pm 27 September. ONLY, TO RECEIVE ANOTHER SET OF FORMS ON 26 SEPTEMBER TO COMPLETE WITH A STATEMENT THAT THE INTEREST RATE ON THE HOMELOAN COULD POTENTIALLY BE REVISED???!
It's now 27 September, 1pm, and no one as contacted me and our private banker seems to always contact the homeloan department for feedback.
We are now tired of FNB and all of their red tape when it comes to trying to transact with them. This is not the 1st time that I have had my issues with them and quite simply, we're moving on after this pathetic process and debacle.
Flexi bond - AS FLEXIBLE AS A CRICKET BAT. Private Banker - None existent. A mere sales pitch by FNB to make their customers feel important.
