FNB HOMELOANS - LIAISON, WHAT LIAISON - SHOCKING SERVICE
I have been an FNB customer for close on 20 years, having bought and sold numerous properties with FNB as the banker. I have never come across such pathetic service as in the last month.
I app**** for a small bond on an already paid up property, which was approved, in order for me to do some renovations. I completed all necessary documentation and was told it takes about 2 - 3 weeks to have the bond registered etc. But then the nightmare began.
The bank required proof of building insurance to the value of R2,0 million, fully understandable and which I duly provided. In fact the buildings are insured for in excess of R2,1 million. FNB proceeded to advise that the insurance policy did not reflect this. I wonder if they can read???? However, I resubmitted the proof of insurance through the conveyancing attorneys. This was 3 weeks ago. FNB has still not given permission to proceed with registration with no feedback whatsoever on why not????!!!!!
Today I phone my personal banker, Gabrielle, who by the way provides excellent service. She refers me to the conveyancing attorneys, who advise that they are waiting for the liaison officer to get back to them. I wanted to speak directly to the liaison officer, but was advised by the attorneys that they are not allowed to provide me with the name of the liaison officer or she will be struck off the roll. So, FNB has a liaison officer who does not know how to, or does not want to or is prevented from liaising?
In the meantime, while their is no liaison, my building project cannot commence as I await approved funds to be released?!!!!? Does FNB and their staff realise that they are working with real people with real every day needs and pressures, and not just a number, or have they got so big and arrogant that they have forgotten it is the "little guy" that has put them where they are?!!!! All it takes is to do today's work today and a little communication to keep people informed. Disgusted and disappointed.
