FNB Home Loans

I have been a client with FNB for over 10 years. I am not a South African citizen but I do have a permanent residence permit. During that period they can see that I have been employed with a consistently increasing salary. I started my own business a year and a half ago with great success. My profile is very healthy, with no debt.

I would like to purchase a house and pay 50% towards the full purchase price, and my own bank cannot offer me a loan. I find that bizarre. I am willing to put down 2 million rand, and my bank is unwilling to even consider my 10-year financial history without my business running for 2 years.

I will now have to lose out on a property that I paid a reservation fee for. And I guarantee, once I have been running for 2 years, I will look at changing the bank I do business with, and I will certainly not look at FNB as an option for a home loan.
