FNB Home Loans - APPAULING service (actually, no service)

We're in the process of purchasing another property as an investment to rent out. With our entire portfolio with FNB, we trusted them with the application and did not approach other banks for a loan. This was a rookie mistake, as they're Home Loans department is probably some of the worst out there, in my view. We app**** via the FNB app the evening of Monday, 4 July, received a notification of application receipt, nothing thereafter. Everything was completed in full, as requested. A few days went past and a call was received on Thursday later afternoon, advising that a further breakdown of expenses is needed. More than an hour later, the e-mail was received. We rep**** the same day, as the deadline to obtain an approved home loan, is rapidly approaching. The urgency of the matter was shared with FNB. They acknowledged and advised that the matter was escalated. We gave them until 12:00 on Monday, 11 July, to provide proper feedback and NOT excuses, we escalated the matter and insisted a manager to return our call. Instead, we received a generic e-mailed response from said manager, advising that the application is still with the Credit Assessment department. It took us a few minutes to obtain two credit scores from two reputable companies. There is noting wrong with our scores, in fact, I doubt whether one can score any higher. Our affordability far exceeds the offer we submitted, again, no problem. FNB's excuse: systems challenges over the past week Appalling service, to say the least I was given the following numbers, none are reachable: *** *** *** ***

Reviewer Update
I received a complaint number followed by another generic mail or two. The problem was resolved, just a pity things had to get to this point, first upsetting the customer, then providing service, one would think that service should be 2nd nature from a corporate company like FNB. Otherwise, received a really good offer, so we're happy. Customer service in the Home Loans department has lots of room for improvement
