FNB Home loan/Commercial property finance department USELESS!!!

I would like to start this review by saying that my wife and I are Private Clients at FNB, just to put into context how shocking and disappointing the Service is that we received from FNB was.

We recently visited the South Coast and came across a Guest House that was for sale and we became very interested in purchasing it. This is where the fun began. I started off by emailing my private banker explaining that I wanted to put in a loan application. Since then I have been passed around from department to department from person to person and have got absolutely nowhere. At no time was any effort made to phone me to book an appointment, which is all I was looking for from MY BANK. I eventually gave up, feeling like all I was doing was banging my head against a brick wall. My wife then took over to see if she would have anymore luck than I did. How wrong we were. She went through exactly the same experience as I did. Constantly having to email FNB to chase up on where we are in the process as phoning them was absolutely futile. I love music, but not when I have to sit on hold listening to the ******* they play, only to eventually be cut off, or giving up after an hour of holding on. After realising we were not going to get anywhere with FNB we decided to contact Nedbank. WOW what a difference. After 30 minutes we had a meeting setup and the representative met us at my wifes work place. AND THEY ARE NOT OUR BANK. We would have preferred to go through FNB as they are our bank, but they don't seem to care about their clients. We are still waiting!!!!!!!

We are both considering moving our accounts else where. Just wanted to share my experience with others so that they don't go through the same frustration we did. For commercial property finance go NEDBANK all the way.
