FNB Home Loan Switch ****

My wife and I have been long-standing clients with FNB for over 10 years. With our first home loan a few years ago, we decided not to compare offers and just decided to apply and go with FNB even though we received a ridiculous interest, we thought this may just be because we first time buyers.

Two years ago, when we moved house, we decided to do some shopping to get the best offer. To our surprise, FNB once again offered a ridiculous rate which they refused to improve, which was very disappointing. Two other banks who we had no dealings with, offered us better deals but we decided to go with SBSA who beat FNB's rate by more than 0.5%.

A few weeks ago, FNB sent me a pre-approved offer to switch bonds which we accepted, but once again, to no surprise, offered us a ridiculous interest rate, refusing to even match SBSA's offer.

My vehicle finance is also with FNB/WesBank but again this is only because I did not shop for any other offers. But guaranteed this will surely be my last vehicle financed through FNB.

We will also be switching bank accounts soon because it’s clear that FNB does not appreciate loyalty so whoever was considering them as a bank, I STRONGLY ADVICE YOU TO CONSIDER OTHER BANKS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH FNB.
