FNB Home Loan disappointment
I'm a long time client of FNB and even decided to take a home loan with them. After years of monthly payments, i finally was able to raise some funds to settle the home loan account with a balance of R433k
I did my own research and was very aware that there will be some penalties of which the amount now got to R445k. This meant I had penalties and interests of R12k...
I decided not to complain about this and just settle this account with the R445k so I can close all my FNB accounts.
After paying the settlement amount I get a message that I now owe the bank R9k... I call the bank to get clarity on this all I get is incompetence of staff who cannot explain why am I still owing.
I am now hoping to get assistance at Ombudsman for Banking Service (OBSSA)
After hours of explanations I now understand the home loans industry and its different options. I understand how this matter could have lead to such a misunderstanding.
