FNB home insurance
Thursday the 22nd February at 12:30(Midnight) my electricity went out with a bang . The db board kept tripping I then called my FNB insurance. The sent THEIR electrician out Friday around 11am . The guy said all the wires have been burnt the house will need to be rewired they left with my power still being off . I then called another electrician that came out and confirmed that the wires have indeed burnt. With him tracing he found that the municipal supply cable to the house is what caused it to burn. He made a plan that I could atleast have the essentials on. Now it’s Tuesday . I’ve had to phone FNB insurance daily to ask them how far my claim is . I was told today that the claim is rejected, when I asked why the said due to the age of the wires . I asked for all the call recordings that I can challenge this outcome with the ombudsman. I got transferred to “the manager” that’s said FNB will first Vet all the calls and I can then apply to have them sent to me .? FNB I have the right to those calls . FNB your supplier could not diagnose the problem and instead chose the easy way out.
Why is this my third claim being rejected ? My house cracked with the earthquake we had last year 2023 My pool cracked last year And now my power cables have burnt?
Thank you for your patience, kindly note that claim 68764 was rejected because of wear and tear and gradual deterioration and claim RNM09883 was rejected because wires are old, there is no insure peril.
