FNB Hollard Home Insurance not wanting to Payout

I had taken out home insurance with FNB underwritten by Hollard Insurance. There was an incident of heavy rains that lifted up trees in my area, I was unfortunate that the my roof was affected to a point that my daughters room was flooded causing damage to the walls, ceiling and flooring. Only for the inspector to say that the house was already damaged, I don’t understand when or how the house was already t because they agreed to cover the house with no issues and when it’s time to pay uo the house has damages.
