FNB has become just as deceiving as the rest of the banks

I'm really disappointed to learn that FNB has become just as deceiving as the rest of the banks. I used to be one of your biggest fans and recommended all my friends to switch banks, but now I'm considering to switch back to anything BUT FNB.

I've noticed FNB connect debit orders on my account for various amounts. I phoned the call center to find out what this is. They said it states in the contract that out of bundle rates would be charged when you have reached your cap, and that the contract holder needs to phone FNB at the start of the contract to put a cap on the account to avoid this.

Never have I ever had to phone in to put a cap to my account on any cellphone contract. This is usually something you have to set up if you want to be billed out of bundle and not something that is automatically active on the contract.

Judging by the amount of HelloPeter complaints for the exact same issue, surely this is something that is just annoying customers. It only tells me that FNB decided to do things the wrong way around (automatically having this out of bundle charges on the account) to take advantage of people not reading their contracts.

Yes, this is wrong on my part, but at the same time it shows me the character of FNB - You would rather annoy your customers and deceive them by automatically turning this on for new accounts, debit them for months, because you also know people don't check their statements regularly, so you would get away with it. Easy recurring revenue.

I even receive SMS's on the contract to say my bundle is depleted, but it doesn't say that I will now be switched over to out of bundle rates.

I believed in you. I used to love the FNB user experience because it was always transparent.

I'm disgusted at your service now.
