FNB handed me over for service fees on a business account that I had no access to. And they were not able to fix it.

After a frustratingly long struggle to open a business account, I finally got it set up, and used it for about a month. Then suddenly I am unable to access my business account, since August 2021, it disappeared from my online and mobile banking along with the money that was in the account. FNB was unable to resolve this after going to the branch twice, and I was on hold for literal hours with the business banking phone line, numerous times. After non payment of account fees(because I couldn't access, make payments into or use my account) they started threatening to close this business account. And I told them to please go ahead since I am unable to use it. They threatened to close it multiple times if no payment was received.

Now FNB has handed me over to Symington de Kok for collection of "service fees". After explaining to them why I do not believe I owe fnb anything as there was no service rendered on an account I was unable to access or get fixed, this is their response :

"Good day

Thank you for your e mail, kindly note the account can only be closed after payment is done.

The outstanding balance is towards service fees for the above mentioned account - R 379.96, kindly note the account cannot accept or do any transactions, please follow the payment instructions below

Kindly make payment into the below bank details provided to (re activate) or close your account

SYMINGTON DE KOK (then goes ahead and provides their own banking details)

So in conclusion, Kindly close the account as FNB as promised. Or give me a valid detailed description of said services rendered on my business account after July 2021 and then I will gladly pay the outstanding amount once I get back the money that was in my account before it disappeared.
