FNB Funeral still haven’t paid out almost 2 months later!!

My ex-husband passed away in January and left both his dad and I as beneficiaries of his funeral policy with FNB. I submitted all the necessary documentation for the payout to be made. Because it was taking long we borrowed the money to bury him. They then paid out my father in law his half of the policy but not me.

I have queried this continuously since then. I keep being advised it approved and it’s being escalated to the person who does the assessments. But to be assured it was approved. I had to send the bank proof of my banking details to prove that I was not paid out which was confirmed by the funeral policy department. I have to date not received this payment and still owe the money to the person who assisted with the burial.

I find this highly unprofessional and unfair that’s hole having to deal with the stress of losing someone we still need to contend with with issues like these.
