FNB - from bad to worse
***NF
This is the 3rd review I lodged on Hello Peter. FNB is extremely quick to follow up initially, but then NO response further. The Debt Review Company finally gave feedback to confirm FNB confirmed they lifted the debt review flag and I must now sort it out myself. How is this possible? The mistake was done by the Debt Review company and FNB not double checking the funds in my cheque account is available again. All my debit orders were deducted, was returned (and now I have to pay the cost) AND all my creditors are phoning me now (thus my credit rating is affected). Is this acceptable business practice for FNB - you blocked my account in 1 working day. YET, to lift the debt review took 7 working days. In my field (where I work), if you walk into the pharmacy and I actually give you the incorrect medicine, you will hold me professionally accountable. Who can be held accountable for this huge mistake. And then - you still have the audacity to send me a sms to inform me my account is overdrawn? YET, it is your fault.
My husbands' company was liquidated in 2018 - subsequently we incurred a lot of debt. We started looking into Debt Review. I sent through documentation to the Debt Review company for a quote - the documentation was incomplete. I have communication from the Sales person at this company to confirm that the debt Councillor will contact me to explain the process. I specifically told the sales person that we will continue as is for this month - thus I will pay all my normal premiums/installments. In the meantime - the documentation was sent through to all creditors (Friday, 25 October). On Monday, 28 October --- all available funds in my FNB Cheque & FNB Credit Card was taken and my accounts frozen. I frantically contacted the Debt Councillor which then apologized and confirmed she will submit the withdrawal documentation. It has been 3 business days, month end is tomorrow and all my debit orders will go off --- and the only response from FNB is that we will have to wait a further 3-5 days? I want to know - who will reimburse me for the rejected debit order fees? This was not my fault - I am supposed to have a private banker and exceptional service - but nobody at FNB has even contacted me. They took over R30,000 of the money that I am supposed to pay school fees, rates and taxes, electricity .... YET NOBODY CARES!!!! I need to pay the garden service and the lady that assists me in my house - I can't .... thus she might be evicted as well. Yet, FNB doesnt care. As explained to both debt councillor and the sales person - we only have my income!!!! Unhappy customer
