FNB ***** - FNB just pulls up their Shoulders, so much for being a private client.

Underneath I explain exactly what happened to me.

There was money ****** from me through a digital ****, after I warned FNB and did everything that I possibly could to prevent it, FNB is sitting back and telling me it is my own loss.

It's not a lot of money but it is the principle of the case and if FNB is not able to protect my assets then I want to warn everyone to stay away from FNB

1. On 16/12/2016 07:00 I received calls from a unknown number and a lady speaking zulu phoning from ********** and ********** 605 several calls in a 10 minute time bracket at

2. 07:05 Vodacom phoned me informing me that someone reported my phone ****** and they are going to block my number. I informed the agent that I have my phone and it is someone that is trying to get into my account. The agent wanted to verify my details, but I refused and told him that I am not comfortable sharing my details as I have no proof that he is really from Vodacom. He further assured me that he will not be blocking the number and he will be FLAGGING my account because the guy that did the ****** report disappeared and it looks like a ********** transaction and to prevent anyone to try to do this again.

3. 07:09 I received a sms stating that my Vodacom account has been blocked. Which confused me so I decided to phone the number that was on the sms to call if I didn’t want the number to be blocked

4. 07:14 I phoned the number on the sms 082 111 and the guy confirmed that the number will not be blocked and he can see that my account has been FLAGGED and reassured me that no one will get access to my account.

5. 07:30 I phoned ********** FNB ***** division with call Reference: Ry ********** 620
I told the lady about my previous encounter and told her that I was afraid that someone is trying to get into my account. She told me that they can’t flag my account but she did cancel my cellphone banking.

6. 14:00 I saw on my phone that I received 120 sms’s which obviously made me suspicious. The sms was all from different numbers advertising car sales. Between the sms’s I saw that my number was blocked again (Which was confusing as I knew that they have put a FLAG on my account.

7. 14:04 I phoned 111 with call Reference: ********** 44 to find out that the lady that blocked my account was on lunch but they can see that my number were flagged the morning. She told me that she will unblock my number and reverse the blocking of my number and make sure that everybody in their call center knows about this. Although I were furious because the number was FLAGGED and I couldn’t understand how this happened.

8. 17:20 I tried to make a transaction on my FNB ebucks account and realized that I have insufficient funds. Obviously, I realized that something happened and I checked my balance and previous transactions where I can see that there was a eb30 000 (equivalent to R5 000 for me) transaction made that I didn’t know about.

9. 17:30 I called FNB ********** with call Reference R*** ********** 22 where I reported the transaction and I told the guy about everything. Obviously furious and my language was rude as the guy told me there is nothing he can do for me after I did everything from my side to try to prevent it. I was afraid that the ebucks account was just the start as there were obviously no way that Vodacom or FNB can protect my identity and my money. I cancelled all my cards and decided to go into a branch the next morning to try to figure out what to do.

10. I went back through all my sms’s and saw between the 120 sms’s I received at 13:04 a sms that there was a new card activated on my ebucks account. That must have been in the time that my number was blocked at Vodacom and the person that blocked my number obviously received my pin from ebucks via sms in that time and made a new card. I cancelled my ebucks cards and changed the pin online.

Now FNB is telling me it is my own loss??????? Unacceptable
