FNB ***** DIVISION USELESS

re ***** Complaint Reference *** - [External Email] FNB

I trust that this letter gets your outmost attention on the unauthorised payments that have been going off my account I am an FNB account holder and have had payments that went from my account without my authorisation and knowledge.

1. IQ Option which is an online trading company has taken an amount of R127 000 from my cheque account without my authorisation. Prior to the transaction I had never even heard about such company. I reported the matter to FNB and ***** department that I have never done online trading in my life, I am not a member of IQ Option or any other trading platform and please see attached email from IQ option confirming that I am not a member, one cannot pay if not trading or a member FNB’s response was that it is my fault since the transaction was authorised through an OTP

2. I have engaged with IQ Option and they have confirmed that I am not their member and have asked my bank to interact with them to recuperate my funds. FNB have not queried the transactions and are not willing to help. IQ Option has requested that my bank must send them a letter, I have informed the Bank but they have not done anything

3. On the same token there was also an attempt to de***** my Nedbank account but Nedbank stopped the transaction before the money was taken, my question is why couldn’t FNB pick up that the transaction was **********?

4. My credit card was de*****ed on 14/02/2019 an amount of R2 964.65, and others, I have reported the transaction to the bank and the outcome was, that I had to be held responsible because of the OTP authorisation that was given to the company called Skr*Skrill.com in Great Britain. For the record, I have not received or responded to any OTP messages on my cell phone.

5. On 10 March 2019 I have received a message from my phone with a transaction to the amount of R28 771.02 without my authorisation again off my cheque account

6. We could see the trend of unauthorised transactions that are happening on my account, it is unbecoming and I believe that the bank system is vulnerable. I have reported the matter, but the transactions are not stopping

7. OTP system must be investigated because on the first ********** transaction that I have reported I was told that it was my fault because the authorisation sent through OTP, which I did not even receive.

8. The same company Skr*Skrill.com has taken again R28 777.02 without my authorisation and this is the same method I had previously reported to the bank last week

9. The bank should follow up with the said companies re the matter

10. From the bank side which PC or Mobile did they use to insert the OTPs?

11. If the bank could see that both my cards were doing the same purchase why didn’t they call me for verification

12. I am certain that an alert on my account could be put in place since I have report on my credit and not allowing the same company to do any transaction as a ***** case was opened before

I hereby request that the investigators must query both companies on the unauthorised transactions and refund me my money. See attached transactions

Regards, Silvestre Kassoma
