FNB ***** Department - Super Slack
This is more about the FNB ***** Department than FNB as a whole as I have had such a bad experience with regards to the ***** Department.
My story is: I purchased a gearbox for my car on 22 February and then on 25 February when I realised it was a **** I immediately contacted the FNB ***** Department where the consultant advised me that the account has been frozen as my money is still reflecting in the other company's account. The consultant also advised me that an investigator will be in contact with me withing 24 to 48 hours.
I also then called FNB back later on the next day to advise them that the same company has another FNB account that they are using and the consultant advised me that they have made a note of it and red flagged the said account and company name.
I then proceeded to do what I needed to with regards to doing an Affidavit and opening a case of ***** and then waited for an investigator to contact me.
I called FNB ***** Department back on the Friday, 1 March, to follow up on what was going on and no one could advise me on what was happening. I then called again on Monday, 4 March, to see what was going on to only be given an email address for the person who is dealing with my case. The consultant then also said she will escalate the issue as I advised it has been over a week and I still have not had any response from anyone from FNB.
Still not hearing anything for the rest of the week, I emailed again on Friday, 8 March, to find out what was going on. The email address provided was ********** I did not get a response or return email.
The lady did however call me on the Tuesday, 12 March, where she advised that she did try and call on the 6th but due to there not being any answer she did not leave a message (as she did not know if it was the right person - according to her in our conversation today), she also did not try and call me again after that which I feel is totally unacceptable as you cannot just try call a person once to find out what is gong on with the case you are supposed to be working on.
Only on the 12th did she ask me for the documentation required which I sent to her as soon as I could. I then got an EMAIL today stating that they cannot do anything for me as the money is no longer in the company's account and they cannot give me my money back and I need to take it up with SAPS.
I then called Nomzamo twice, first not to get through but then when I finally did she was not apologetic about anything that has happened, just kept on telling me that there is nothing FNB can do as the money has been taken out of the account and is now lost.
I then kept on asking her how this could be as I was told when I initially reported the incident that the account was frozen and she could not explain to me as to how the account could be in a negative after the fact.
I will admit, I did get upset as this is no laughing matter due to me loosing a lot of money, but there is no compassion with regards to any of this, whatsoever.
I advised Nomzamo that this company does not have one but two accounts with FNB that I am aware of and when I asked her why FNB ***** Department is not looking into this company as these accounts are business accounts and with them using them they are de*****ing people and the bank is not doing anything about it. All she said was that it is not their responsibility and they cannot do anything to help me.
I am totally upset about this because it took me to contact the ***** Department every time before I was contacted by the relevant person working on the case. With this time that passed it gave the company that was being reported time to get all it's money out if the said account and now they cannot give me my money back. The account was supposed to be frozen, they were not supposed to be able to get their money out of their account and now this.
The bank has not even tried to follow up on if this company is really a ********** company or not. They haven't even called the numbers provided in my affidavit to see if the people mentioned are legitimate as these accounts were opened with FNB so they should have relevant information about these people who the accounts belong to.
Why do the people from the ***** Department not follow up on these things? I realise there are a lot of ********** out there but if you are given the necessary information about a company that you feel you are being ****med by then why do you as the banking institution that I trust, not check on these people and see what they are up to. Is that not part of doing an investigation? Not just to see that the money is not in the account any more and then let the person know via EMAIL that they cannot help you and you need to just move on.
We entrust FNB as our banking institution to keep our money safe and to help us when it comes to our money being ****** from us but then when it comes to this nothing gets done because there are too many ***** cases to deal with.
All I want is my money back as I did not receive what I was intended to and I was advised that I would be able to due to the account at the time of 25 February still having funds in the account and supposedly still should have been frozen.
