FNB ***** department
Back in September 2022 I had advertised a fridge on Gumtree. Someone had expressed interest in purchasing the fridge. The person interested had arranged for the fridge to be collected from me and delivered to her. She had chosen the courier company and said she will make payment for the courier. I then received a link from her where I had to input banking details, card number and CVV included. I got a notification from my bank where I had to accept or decline an outgoing transfer from my account. I clicked decline, but somehow it went through anyway. I immediately called the ***** department and explained to them what had happened. They provided me with a case number - *** and advised that within 7 working days I would received feedback. No feedback was received and I eventually had to go to a branch. At the branch I called the ***** department and they advised the case was not processed yet and I advised about the turn around time I was given. From then up until now it is still in a dispute status due to me deliberately inputting my card number. I explained to them that I had declined the transaction. It had now been 4 months and I have received no resolution and no updates unless I call them. I am frustrated at the fact that I declined the transaction and it still went through. I was not making a purchase but selling an item. I am also highly frustrated at the lack of customer service and being given a turn around time and then not receiving any feedback whatsoever. It is frustrating to know that the bank with whom i entrust my hard earned money for years and years cannot competently assist me in this matter. This speaks volumes of their level of customer service as well as customer satisfaction. I would appreciate if someone at least reached out to me and communicated, but nothing. I just want my money back, because even though I input my card number, I still declined the transaction on my side when I got the notification. I just want my money back and I am tired of the back and forth.
