FNB ***** - ****************
My mother’s has been subject to FNB ATM ***** and unfortunately R2000 from my disabled brother’s maintenance money has been ****** from her account, as a result of this *****. Her card got stuck in the ATM after her withdrawal and 6 minutes after the fact, there was a second withdrawal at another ATM at a different location. My mom called the lost card number, where she was provided a reference number and informed that the matter would be resolved by 06 July 2021. Although the ****** money was returned to her account, FNB has only returned R600 instead of the full amount. It is rather disturbing that the bank would take money which is not that of my mother’s but for the needs of a disabled person to pay themselves. The bank is well aware that there is a fixed amount which is clearly marked as maintenance that goes into my mothers account. I would like to understand why they didn’t inform her that they see this as an opportunity to line their pockets and disregard the innocent individual grossly affected by their greed. As a credible financial institutions, it’s is the responsibility of FNB to have honest communication with clients and deal with issues with a level of integrity and dignity for their consumers. To make matters worse the bank knows that my mother is unemployed as she had made them aware. Why take money from the disabled? Has the bank even considered the fact that the money they took needs to cover my brother’s adult nappies, catheters, medication and food? Would someone please attend to this matter and explain why FNB is robbing the disabled.
My mother has been receiving a plethora of bullying, rude and disrespectful calls from this business from 08:30 yesterday morning. According to my understanding FNB as a reputable financial institution is governed by the SARB regulations, which clearly stipulate that clients are to be given dignity when conducting business with them.
I am absolutely flabbergasted by the flagrant disregard of consumer rights to dignity.
The fact remains that money which was meant to cover the expenses of an innocent disabled individual has been taken by FNB. No amount of harassing, bullying and ************ will scare me from holding the bank accountable and request an explanation for that.
Would someone with a level of professionalism, emotional intelligence and respect contact me ***) or my mother (who is the account holder) to resolve this matter.
